How Squares works
Football Squares is the classic game-day grid. You claim squares on a board before the numbers are drawn; once they are, every row and column gets a digit, and the last digit of each team's score picks the winning square at the end of each period.
Playing is three steps
- Claim — tap open squares, sign them with any name you like, and enter your email. Your squares are yours the moment you save.
- The draw — when the board fills (or at the posted draw time), digits are assigned randomly to the rows and columns. You'll get an email with your squares and their numbers.
- Game day — scores, quarter winners, and payouts all run automatically from the live feed. Just watch the board.
When winners are decided
Boards can pay on up to four periods — 1st Quarter, Halftime, 3rd Quarter, and Final — and each uses the game score *at that point* (Halftime is the whole first half, not just Q2). The Final uses the last score of the game, so overtime counts. Some boards skip periods (a Half & Final board pays twice); the board page always shows which periods pay and what each is worth.
Example: it's 17–14 at halftime. The 7 and the 4 meet at one square — that square wins the Halftime share. Every enabled period works the same way.
